Minor League Players



The record shows almost all the Major League Baseball players start their career by playing the Minor League games. Minor League Baseball is a professional league below the Major Leagues. Minor League players could play in any of its three leagues such as, Triple A, Double A and Single A. A brief discussion of popular Minor League players is given below:
Anthony Gose- Born on August 10, 1990 in Bellflower, California, Anthony Gose is one of the most talented baseball players. He was chosen by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2nd Round of 2008 amateur entry draft. Apart from the GCL Phillies, he has also played for the Lakewood BlueClaws.
Wilmer Flores- Wilmer Alejandro Flores, better known as Wilmer Flores has played for the Kingsport Mets, the Brooklyn Cyclones, and the Savannah Sand Gnats. He was born on August 6, 1991 in Valencia, Venezuela.
Ruben Tejada- He is also one of the most promising Minor League players. Born on September 1, 1989 in Varaguas, Panama, Ruben played for the GCL Mets, the St. Lucie Mets, and the Binghamton Mets.
Jason Heyward- He was chosen by Atlanta Braves in 1st Round of 2007 amateur entry draft (June-Reg). Jason A. Heyward was born on August 9, 1989 in McDonough, Georgia. This hitter has played for the GCL Braves, the Danville, the Rome Braves, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Mississippi, and the Gwinnett Braves.
Tyler B. Pastornicky- Played for the GCL Blue Jays, the Lansing Lugnuts, and Dunedin Blue Jays, this Minor League Player was chosen by Toronto Blue Jays in 5th Round (159th overall) of 2008 amateur entry draft. Pastornicky is powerful hitter and was born on December 13, 1989 in Bradenton, Florida.
Jay Austin- The Houston Astros selected Joseph E. Austin in the 2nd round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft. Born on August 10, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, this Minor League hitter has played for the Greeneville Astros and the Lexington Legends.
Jaff Decker- Jaff Kyle Decker is another gifted hitter in the Minor League baseball. He was born on February 23, 1990 in Peoria, Arizona. Jaff Decker was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 1st round (42nd overall) of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft. The player has played for the Eugene Emeralds, the AZL Padres, and the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
Tyson Gillies- He was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 25th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft. Born on October 31, 1988 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Tyson Gillies is a promising hitter. The Everett AquaSox, the High Desert Mavericks, and the Azl Mariners are some of the teams he has played for.
