Baseball is a hugely popular game in many parts of North America. The game is followed all across the United States rigorously. Many of the U.S. states have one or more baseball teams that play in different leagues including MLB, Minor league Baseball and others. However, the game is equally popular at the states, which do not have any baseball team at professional level. Let’s have a look at the details of baseball by state in the U.S.
 
 
Arizona (AZ)
 
Major League Baseball:
 
Arizona is the home to Major League Baseball team – Arizona Diamondbacks. It plays in the West division in the National League (NL). Based at Phoenix, the team plays its home matches in Chase Field stadium.
 
Minor League Baseball:
 
There are many minor league baseball teams in Arizona. AZL Angels, AZL Athletics, AZL Brewers, AZL Cubs, AZL Dodgers, AZL Giants, AZL Indians, AZL Mariners, AZL Padres, AZL Rangers and AZL Royals are some of those.
 
Spring Training:

California (CA)
 
California has many MLB teams that play in the American League as well as the National League. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim is an American League team that plays in West division and plays their home matches at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Oakland Athletics is another American League team based at Oakland, CA. It also plays in the West division and plays its home matches at Safeco Field stadium.
 
In the National League, there are 3 teams from California – Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. They play their home matches at the Dodger Stadium, Petco Park and AT&T Park respectively. All of them play in the National League West division.
 
 
Colorado (CO)
 
Colorado is the home to the MLB team Colorado Rockies. Based at Denver, it plays in the West division of the National League and has its home ground at Coors Field.

This state is the home to 2 MLB teams – Tampa Bay Rays and Florida Marlins. While Tampa Bay Rays is based at St. Petersburg and plays its home matches at Tropicana Field, Florida Marlins is based at Miami Gardens and plays at Sun Life Stadium.

Georgia (GA)
 
The U.S. state of Georgia has one team in MLB. Atlanta Braves, based at Atlanta, plays in the East division in the National League. It plays its home matches at Turner Field.
 
 
Illinois (IL)
 
There are two teams in MLB from Illinois. Chicago White Sox plays in the American League Central division. It plays its home matches at U.S. Cellular Field. On the other hand, Chicago Cubs is another Illinois based MLB team that plays in the National League Central division. It plays its home matches at Wrigley Field.
 
 
Massachusetts (MA)
 
There is one team from Massachusetts in MLB. Boston Red Sox plays in the American League East division and plays its home matches at Fenway Park.
 
 
Maryland (MD)
 
Maryland has one team in MLB. Baltimore Orioles plays in the East division of the American League. Oriole Park at Camden Yards is its home ground.
 
 
Minnesota (MN)
 
Minnesota Twins is the MLB team from Minnesota. It plays in the Central division of the American League. Based at Minneapolis, the team plays its home matches in Target Field.
 
 
Missouri (MO)
 
The U.S. state of Missouri has two teams in MLB, one each from the American League and the National League. While Kansas City Royals plays in the Central division in the American League, St. Louis Cardinals plays in the Central division in the National League. Pennsylvania (PA)

Texas (TX)

Washington (WA)
 
Seattle Mariners is the only MLB team from this U.S. state. Based at Seattle, this team has its home ground at Safeco Field. It plays in the West division in the American League.
 
 
Washington D.C.
 
Washington Nationals is the only MLB team from here. Plays in the East division in the National League, it has its home ground at Nationals Park.
 
 
Wisconsin (WI)
 
Wisconsin is the home to Milwaukee Brewers. Plays in the Central division in the National League, this MLB team plays its home matches in Miller Park.
