Atlanta Braves

 
The Atlanta Braves, based in Atlanta in Georgia is a professional baseball team. They are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball’s National League. The team is nicknamed ‘Bravos’ and sometimes, they call themselves ‘America’s Team’. They are undoubtedly one of the best teams that play for NL having very impressive stats and excellent performance record.
 
History of the Atlanta Braves
 
They were one of the most successful franchises from the period 1991 to 2005. They recorded 14 successive victories by winning the division titles. They won the NL West during 1991-93 and the NL East during 1995-2005. Till the 1990s, they had played in the World Series winning the championship in the year 1995. The Atlanta Braves made their debut in the National League in the year 1876. Since then, they have won 16 divisional titles and 9 National League pennants. Apart from this, they have also won the World Series Championship in the year 1914 as ‘Boston Braves’ and the World Series title in the year 1957 as ‘Milwaukee Braves’ and, for the third time in Atlanta in the year 1995.
 
In 1871, the team was founded as the ‘Boston Red Stockings’. They picked up the name ‘Braves’ at a later stage and is carrying on with it till present.
