Willie Mays is a great baseball player who played mostly for the New York and San Francisco Giants.In 1979, he was selected in the Baseball hall of fame. He bagged two MVP awards and even went for a record by posing for 24 appearances in the All-Star Game.
In 1999, he listed himself in the second position of the “Sporting News List of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players”. Later in the year, he even went ahead for the major baseball all-century team. In 1955 and 1965, Mays gave more than 50 runs. The baseball enthusiasts regard him to be one of the great baseball players. Rookie of the Year award came as a major surprise for him.
He made a splendid performance by giving more than 50 home runs in 1955 and 1965. In total, he made 660 career home runs. Mayo’s senior used to call him as a superstar. He was more of an all round player who gave many hits in his lifetime. He was among the few players who was selected for the National League “Most valuable Player Award”.
